Digital Intermediate
The process of filmmaking is divided into three parts: collecting, preparing and distributing or as we say: shoot, post and show.
Shooting is today both digital and analog. Showing is mostly analog. But the post process is since a couple of years totally digital. In order to get the most value back in a filmproject it is therefore important to choose the right Digital Intermediate format. We can offer you two proven ways to get the best out of your film.
HDCamSR
Choosing HDCamSR is the most cost effective way to get a filmprint for Theatre release and a HD master for broadcast and DVD/Blueray production out of film stock. We use here the ability to store filmoriginated pictures on a tapebased media in RGB 10bit colourspace. From the HDCamSR tapes we can easily provide you with offline material and quickly make an autoconform after final cut. The format is ideal for super 16mm stock, but can also be used on 35mm in order to cut the costs in postproduction. Also we can easily at any time pull out full quality pictures for trailers and teasers parallell to the film editing process.

2K/4K
In order to get the full value out of your film originated pictuers we recommend you to transfer to 10 bit logaritmic dpx files at 2K or 4K resolution. 2K is the standard for Digital Intermediate in Europe. 4K is emerging more and more and is considered as transparent to or better than analog 35mm postproduction. We will in this process give you DNxHD or QuickTime files at low bitrate resolution for offline editing. After final cut we make a quick filebased autoconform from the metadata you will give us. After that you will also have the opportunity to supervise the colortiming of the answerprint before we will deliver your releaseprints. A mute checkprint that can be used in final soundmix will also be delivered to you.
