After two days short film festival, Frame now has the choir of the year’s winner. In the competition class 27+, Tia Kouvo won with “We Retired People”. The prize is presented in collaboration with Film i Väst and Shoot & Post, and consists of a co-production effort worth at least 75,000 kr.

“This year’s festival has hit public records, great fun! Already Saturday morning we had an audience of over 80 people and then it just continued to rise, “says Jenny Luukkonen, producer of Frame.

“Amateurs”, directed by Gabriela Pichler, won the Dragon Award Best Nordic Film on Saturday night at Göteborg Film Festival. The prize money of one million Swedish kronor makes it the world’s biggest film prize. Grading by Vanessa Taylor and Fateh Shams. Online, VFX and DCP by Christer Engstrom. This year’s critics award, FIPRESCI, goes to Isold Uggadóttir and the movie “And Breathe Normally”. The prize is awarded by the International Film Critics Association and goes to one of the films in the Dragon Award Best Nordic Film competition. With more people on the move today than ever before in our recorded history, the global refugee crisis is posing one of the greatest humanitarian challenges of our time.
Unaccompanied Refugee Minors (URMs) arriving in Europe represent a substantial proportion of the great Mediterranean migration.
They cross 6.000 miles of desert and sea to reach Europe, children travelling alone on the world’s most dangerous migration route.
A smartphone is all they carry, the only link to what is left behind and what lies ahead. Technology has transformed this historic 21st century phenomenon: these are “digital” migrants.

Shoot&Post are cooperating in this project with DugongFilms from Italy. It is one of 12 projects selected by Creative Europe out of 300 applications to support refugee integration.

Shoot & Post joins Film i Vast with awards for “Frame Filmfestival” in Gothenburg. Giving support and money in order to make sure that young filmmakers can complete their projects and get it out. The award will be in class 27+.  Anna – Karin Johansson, head of the festival and representing Kultur i Vast is really looking forward to the competition this year.

This week Fateh Shams is grading Caterina Pecchiolis dokumentary “Talking Hands”. It will then be in competition in Festival dei Popoli in Florence at the end of November. Producer is Dugong Production in Roma.

“Lo Scambio” was awarded the jurys special price at Annecy Cinema Italien festival. Congratulations to Eleonora Cordaro, Filippo Luna and Salvo Cuccia.

The documentary about the famous jazz musician Lee Morgan “I called him Morgan” by Kasper Collin will have world premiere on the 1st of September in Venice Out of competition.
Online is done by Fateh Shams and grading is going on this week by Nikolai Waldman. Christer Engstrom will make the DCP:s for distribution. The film will then continue to Telluride, Toronto and New York.

Shoot&Post are doing DIT-services on “Dröm Vidare” produced by 2afilm through Björn Liljegrääs. The shooting is in Alby, Stockholm and Luleå during this summer. Director is Rojda Sekersöz and DOP Gabriel Mkrttchian.

We are now doing postproduction of Susanna Edwards documentary about the proffessional boxer Frida Wallgren. World premiere at Tempo Dokumentary Film Festival in Stockholm in March. Producer Garage Film.
